IPC/WHMA-A-620 Optional Hands On 5-FEB-2026

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Hands-On Add-On course provides practical, skills-based training in cable and wire harness fabrication and installation, aligned with the industry standard IPC/WHMA-A-620. This advanced course focuses on applying the standard’s acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured, and soldered interconnections, as well as lacing and restraining methods for cable and harness assemblies.

Designed for participants who already possess a foundational understanding of wire preparation, crimping, and basic assembly practices, this course emphasizes hands-on learning through real-world cable-building exercises. Successful completion demonstrates proficiency in the physical assembly and inspection processes required for high-reliability cable and wire harness applications, including those built to space-level standards.

Participants must hold a current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification to enrol.

The certification term for IPC/WHMA-A-620 Hands On Add On is two years.

 

It is a prerequisite of the hands-on add-on that candidates have earned their IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, certification.

This optional endorsement must be completed within 90 days of the base IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.

The fee for the IPC/WHMA-A-620 Hands On for Certified IPC Specialist course includes all materials for the course, refreshments and catering each day.
